New House

Can you believe that we are actually homeowners..how exciting! We finally found a house and was able to close on it. You don't even realize how hard this has been for us. We've put numerous offers on several homes only to find out that we were either out bid or something else went wrong before we were able to close on it. Guess patience pays off because Jesse and I found a great house that we can grow into and raise our family! It will be nice to actually get to fix it up the way we want and have people over to entertain. A huge plus is I have a GREAT kitchen to cook in and am excited about cooking family meals for Jesse and I.

Before we got all moved in I wanted to paint the master bedroom. We closed on Thursday, February 24th and I had Jesse and Johan already painting Friday night. I've always wanted a chocolate brown room and my decor goes perfect with it. We haven't hung anything on the walls as of yet but that is yet to come because i love to decorate...

Our hopes of finally owning our own home are coming to a reality. We actually close on our first home February 24th. Everything has gone smoothly and in order and we actually get the keys at 8:00am Thursday..YEAH!!!! So excited to get in there and paint and decorate...My aunt Tammi who is a professional painter is actually coming up with my mom next weekend to help paint..can't wait.

Easton - 4 months

Can't believe 4 months have come and gone and our little guy is getting so big. He's finally packing on the pounds...13lbs 12oz...he's still only in the 25th percentile for his weight but 75% for his height...25.5in. So much has happened this month. He's rolled over from his stomach to back..has found his feet and loves playing with them and rolling up into a little ball..has tried cereal for the first time and didn't know what to think...ate a little baby food (sweet potatoes)...I actually by mistake got him the 3rd stage baby food instead of 1st stage which is for infants...guess i didn't even know there was a difference..luckily there were no chunks in his food...some other things he's done this month is blowing bubbles with his spit...has found his feet and loves playing with them...actually starting to laugh and smile a lot more...loves it when daddy tickles him and says "pickles"...talking more...attempting to suck his thumb...crazy how they grow up so fast. Pretty soon he'll be crawling and walking everywhere and saying whole sentences...hoping that doesn't come for a while though...lol...i love how he's still little to cuddle and hold all the time.

We're still not sleeping through the night. He gets Jesse and I up at least twice a night if not more. Its definitely wearing on us when we both have to get up and work the next day. Lucky him gets to sleep whenever he wants to..lol..oh the life of a baby...

Found out today that our cat Sammi has been sleeping with Easton...I knew she was napping in his crib but not actually sleeping in it with him. Jesse found her there this morning...Sammi may be finding a new home if she keeps that up...guess we'll have to start locking her in a different room at night and making sure Easton's room is shut during the day. Valentines

Jesse and I's first Valentines together as a married couple. We had a great time. Steph and Ben invited us to this dinner and dancing event at the Holiday Inn in West Des Moines put on by Spirit Ministries. Jesse wasn't too thrilled about the dancing part but we all ended up having a great time. And come to find out...Jesse does have rythmn and can dance even though he says tall white men can't dance.
