Trip Home to South Dakota

Easton and I ventured out on a trip of our own to South Dakota to put some finishing touches on Jesse and I's reception and to get my dress fitted. I was kind of reluctant about the drive with just myself and Easton but it went fairly well. I stopped a lot on the side of the road due to him dropping his toys or paci and then stopped at some rest stops so he could get out and play. What should of taken us 5.5 hours ended up taking us 8 hours. We did however stop in Sioux Falls for a quick Hobby Lobby run and to visit Michael so that added on some as well. I decided to leave an extra day early due to my niece celebrating her birthday. I haven't been home for one of my nieces birthday's in quite a while so it was good to be able to celebrate with her and then have them play with Easton. Over all the trip home was a success and we got a lot accomplished. There was a lot of spray painting going on, Easton had his first 4-wheeler ride, Easton was allergic to Grandma's detergent...he broke out everywhere the entire time we were home...Dakota fest day, and we had a bonfire one night.  Great time home.
Our travels back didn't take as long as Easton slept most of the way. Ended up only taking 6 hours going home...It was sure good to be home. We got home before Jesse was home and when we were home waiting on him Easton was pacing the floors looking for him. When Jesse got home and the door opened...Easton knew right away daddy was home...it was so cute the way he looked for daddy and realized he was home after he heard the door..what a smart little boy...he missed his daddy being gone almost a week. I of course missed him as well....longest we've been apart!

Family outing to the State Fair

Since Easton and I were leaving for a week to go back to South Dakota, Jesse and I decided to take a family outing with Easton, Johan and Julie back to the State Fair. I wanted to take Easton to the petting zoo and for me to get a famous state fair corn dog. We had a great time and by the end of the night, Easton was worn out.

Easton - 10 Months

10 Months....2 more months and then our little baby won't be much of a baby anymore. He'll almost be a toddler...We have had a crazy month this month. State Fair, road trips, trips to the Park, first Iowa Cubs game, Garage saling with mom, first mohawk, first hawkeyes game at Johans, Shopping with mom and dad, climbing stairs like it's going out of style. Easton has been a little busy bee. He even got his first tooth this month. He never even fussed...all of a sudden it was just there. Kim our daycare lady pointed it out and sure enough it was all the way through. No wonder he was running his tongue on his gums all the time. Crazy how he didn't even let us know.

Some things that Easton especially enjoys at 10 months: people food, baby food, giving zerberts, drooling, loves rubbing his tongue on his gums (probably because he was getting a tooth in), peek - a - boo, the game "i'm going to get you", playing with daddys shoes, his basket ball and soccer ball or any other kind of ball, books, sliding baskets or whatever else on the floor, throwing his pacis on the ground from his crib, swinging at the park, bath time, playing pick up with mommy and dadd, throwing his bath toys out of the tub, attacking pillows and chasing Sammi Jo around. Easton is learning to crawl the stairs like a pro, stand on his own and walking better with his lion. He's still not walking yet but it won't be long. I have to now keep the gates up otherwise he is all over the stairs when i'm not looking.

Some things Easton doesn't like at 10 months: being in the stroller for an extended period of time, being in his car seat for longer than 20 minutes, mashed up roast and potatoes (who doesn't like meat and potatoes), sitting still in church, being locked out of a room or left a lone,

Henningson Family Reunion (Sunday August 14th)

Every year Jesse's mom's side has their annual family reunion. Last year I was very pregnant when i went and it was so incredibly hot outside. This year the weather was amazing and we all had a great time visiting and taking Easton to the lake. He enjoyed learning what sand was for the first time. It was a quick trip but was great seeing everyone that we haven't seen in such a long time.
