Easton and I had several doctors appointments today. Today is the 2nd day of venturing out by myself. You definitley have to start early to get not only him ready but me ready as well. My doctors appointment went really well. My incision is healing perfectly. Dr Makapati did tell me that I need to still be taking it easy which i have really yet to do since coming home from the hospital. Apparently I don't know what the words taking it easy means..i've been on the go since he's been born and I can definitely tell. Carrying him in his car seat all day today was a struggle. He is definitely heavier than he looks.
Eastons doctor appointment also went well. He weighed in today at 7lbs 5oz..the exact weight the lactation consultant wanted him to be at today. We never did make it to the hospital to get weighted but I figured weighing him at the Pediatritions office compared to weighing him at the hospital. Dr. Owens says he's doing really good. He still has two plugged eye ducts but he said those should open up with time and if not they really don't do anything until he's 6-9 months old. Poor little guy is always having matty little eyes. We've been massaging his eyes and washing them out with tear free shampoo..hopefully they'll open up soon. We have to go back to the Pediatrition next Tuesday for a final weigh in. Dr. Owens wants him to be a half of an ounce over his birth weight before he says he doesn't have to come back. I'm pretty sure he'll get there by our next visit. Hopefully since he's eating better i'll be able to maybe not do so much as in remidys to get my milk to come in faster. It really does take a lot of time and energy to get everything in every day.
So far our little pumpkin is doing great and has been a pretty mellow little baby for the most part. I do believe he has his days and nights mixed up with the sleeping but he's getting better at it. We had a really good night last night where both of us got more sleep than we have been in the last couple of days. One thing I do know is...I will not be eating spicy foods...I had some jalepeno peppers the other day and he was up all night long with an upset tummy. Poor guy..i guess I didn't realize that whatever I eat he consumes as well...good thing to remember.
