Daycare

Easton had been going to his daycare since he was 3 months old. Kim had been a great daycare provider. Unfortunately her being in Altoona we wanted to find somewhere closer to take Easton since we are probably going to be staying in Pleasant Hill for awhile. An opening came available right down the street. I had called her before I even had Easton and inquired about an opening but she was all full. Easton and I met with her and we really liked her and felt comfortable with her. Now the hard part of telling Kim. Before Jesse and I headed to South Dakota we met with Kim and let her know that we were giving her our 30 days notice. She was sad of course because Easton's been with her so long and she's grown fond of him. At first it wasn't anything against Kim but the distance and Vicky was actually going to be 15 dollars a month cheaper. Kim has been an over all good provider even though she called in sick a lot and took way too much vacation but over the course of our 30 days Kim's attitude kind of changed towards us and she started to not treat us as nicely has she currently had before we told her that Easton was leaving. I had a couple of run in's with her regarding vacation (Martin Luther King Day) and now apparently instead of giving her a verbal 30 days notice like my sister did with her kids..she was requiring a written 30 day notice. I had texted her on our last week of daycare to tell her that we were going to use our deposit as our last weeks of pay. She apparently didn't realized that the verbal 30 days was our actual 30 days. She insisted that Easton needed a written 30 day notice and that we didn't actually give our 30 day notice until 2 weeks after we actually had given it to her. Unfortunately the situation ended poorly. I ended up pulling Easton from Kims daycare due to the lack of respect and for the fact that she told me she was not going to care for Easton unless we paid her for the week and was to give a 30 day written notice. I had enough of all the crap we put up with during the last 30 days. Easton is way more important to us than money. I took that day off and stayed home with him and called Vicky and she luckily agreed to start watching him a week early. Over all Vicky has been a great addition in Easton's life. He seems more happy after daycare and seems to really like it there. I think Jesse and I both made the right decision in pulling him from Kims. It was a hard decision to make but it overall has turned out for the best for Easton and us.
