Family Visits

Today we were able to spend some time with Jesse's brothers family that came down from Council Bluffs who hadn't seen Easton yet. It was good to see them and we all had a good time visiting. There were only able to stay for a short while but Thanksgiving is only around the corner when we'll get to see everyone again.

Easton - 3 Weeks old today

I can't believe our little one is 3 weeks old today. Time flys. He has changed so much since bringing him home from the hospital. He's starting to be more wide awake, smile a little and make funny faces. We're still not sleeping very well at nights but hopefully that will start to get better..not only for Easton but for me as well.

Jesse and I's first outing with out Easton

Since Easton's been born, Jesse and I haven't had any time together. Our days and nights are consumed with our little one which I couldn't ask for anything less.

Jesse was able to get free tickets to the Craig Morgan concert at the Velaire Ballroom. I asked my sister and brother in law to babysit Easton for a couple of hours so Jesse and I could go out for a little while. We never really got to actually hear Craig Morgan due to him not starting his actual show until after 9:30 almost and I had told my sister we'd be home around 10. All I could think about at the concert was Easton..it was definitely hard for me to leave him even though he was in the best hands ever with his Auntie and Uncle. I was afraid he wouldn't do so well since he's been a fussy baby lately. He did awesome..slept the whole time we were gone and woke up just in time to nurse when we got home. The evening turned out to be fun. Wished we could of heard Craig more but I guess you're limited on the time you can be away when you have a newborn.

Weigh In Update

Easton and I had several doctors appointments today. Today is the 2nd day of venturing out by myself. You definitley have to start early to get not only him ready but me ready as well. My doctors appointment went really well. My incision is healing perfectly. Dr Makapati did tell me that I need to still be taking it easy which i have really yet to do since coming home from the hospital. Apparently I don't know what the words taking it easy means..i've been on the go since he's been born and I can definitely tell. Carrying him in his car seat all day today was a struggle. He is definitely heavier than he looks.

Eastons doctor appointment also went well. He weighed in today at 7lbs 5oz..the exact weight the lactation consultant wanted him to be at today. We never did make it to the hospital to get weighted but I figured weighing him at the Pediatritions office compared to weighing him at the hospital. Dr. Owens says he's doing really good. He still has two plugged eye ducts but he said those should open up with time and if not they really don't do anything until he's 6-9 months old. Poor little guy is always having matty little eyes. We've been massaging his eyes and washing them out with tear free shampoo..hopefully they'll open up soon. We have to go back to the Pediatrition next Tuesday for a final weigh in. Dr. Owens wants him to be a half of an ounce over his birth weight before he says he doesn't have to come back. I'm pretty sure he'll get there by our next visit. Hopefully since he's eating better i'll be able to maybe not do so much as in remidys to get my milk to come in faster. It really does take a lot of time and energy to get everything in every day.

So far our little pumpkin is doing great and has been a pretty mellow little baby for the most part. I do believe he has his days and nights mixed up with the sleeping but he's getting better at it. We had a really good night last night where both of us got more sleep than we have been in the last couple of days. One thing I do know is...I will not be eating spicy foods...I had some jalepeno peppers the other day and he was up all night long with an upset tummy. Poor guy..i guess I didn't realize that whatever I eat he consumes as well...good thing to remember.

Happy 30th Birthday Daddy

Easton and I's first outing together....Newborn pictures and to visit daddy at work for his birthday.

My sister Steph set up a photo session for not only her family but also to get some pictures of Easton as a newborn. Grady and the babies all did exceptionally well. We were so proud of them. Pictures soon to come.

After pictures, Easton and I went and surprised daddy at work for his birthday. He turned the big 30...
Since I work in the same location Easton and I also went up to my work and visited my co-workers. Everyone was excited to see him and commented on how much he looked like his daddy. Over all today was a good day but I was exhausted afterwards.
