Our little man is growing up so fast. In 5 months he'll be a year old. He's turning into such a cute little boy. Definitely doesn't look like a newborn anymore. At his 7th month doctors visit (shots) Easton weighted 16lbs and 15oz and was 29 inches long. He grew 1 1/2 inches in a month...He definitely is going to be a tall little boy. It's finally summer and he can actually fit into shorts with out having to worry about the length. Super excited for that since most of his pants were too short for him but were too big in the waste when i tried to find the right length.
He's developing a personality and showing us he can and will throw temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. We found out from the doctor that the poor little guy is allergic to Milk based products. At his 6th month check up i had the doctor take a sample of his dirty diaper because he was consistantly over the course of over a week having horrible horrible diapers. Kim wouldn't even let him come to daycare because she said he had the flu bug. After the tests came back it was determined that he was allergic to his formula which was milk based. The doctor gave us several cans of soy based formula. We kept him on just Soy formula, applesauce, bananas and rice cereal (Bratts Diet) for a week. His diapers seemed to be getting better and he hasn't really had any more issues after being on Soy formula. Jesse and I absolutely dislike the new formula. It stinks horribly and is just flat out gross. Thankfully I haven't noticed him having any more gas than normal since soy formula is bean based.
Some new things that have developed over the course of the last month: Easton is finally learning how to roll around both ways. He's not getting stuck as much like he used to when he only rolled one way. He's also starting to scoot backwards which is a sign that he'll be crawling soon. I"m ready for him to crawl but then again i'm not considering we'll have to baby proof the entire house and block off the stairs. I continue to take Easton back once a month for his shots. It just breaks my heart when he crys so hard you have to blow in his face to get him to breathe....he's fine after a big hug from mom and some tylonol. Easton loves falling a sleep with his blankie. Doesn't matter what blankie he has....he just has to have one to fall asleep now. He loves going for walks/runs. He's a big boy now so can sit in the stroller and see things and enjoy the ride. He is rolling over like crazy...back and forth...back and forth...but for some reason he only rolls one way. He will not roll the other way even if he gets stuck..instead he throws a temper tantrum until mommy or daddy picks him up. He loves his fruits and vegetables. Loves playing with the spoon and trying to feed himself. Easton drank from a cup for the first time and loved it. He did really well at drinking from a cup. Didn't want to give him too much because babies aren't apparently suppose to have lots of water at such a young age. He'll be ready for a sippy cup real soon. Found out he's super tickilish...poor little guy just giggles and giggles when we tickle him. Took to Easton to the park for the first time. We put him in the swings and he didn't know what to think. He absolutely hated sitting in the grass with his bare legs...wouldn't have it..didn't like the sand either. Must be the different textures of it that he doesnt' like. Jesse and I bought a fire pit for the summer so one family night we roasted hotdogs and made smores..was super fun and the boys enjoyed it.
While we were visiting my parents house I gave Easton a sippy cup for the first time. He loved it. Hopefully switching from a bottle to a sippy cup when he's a year won't be too difficult. Easton loved being at grandmas and playing with his cousins and his cousins loved playing with him. He definitely was a trooper when it came to traveling the long distance.
Easton is finally starting to sit up on his own for longer periods of time. Mom is still right there to caught him when he starts to fall. Pretty soon he'll be sitting up on his own and crawling...crazy.
Some different sounds he has been making is the clicking of his touge..being more vocal and saying momma and dadda..Jesse is so funny..he continues to remind Easton every day to say da da..apparently he wants him to say da da first over ma ma....its really cute. Easton has really developed his belly laugh. Before he wouldn't really let his belly laugh out but this month if he's tickled or if you go bugabugabuga to his face he laughs really hard. Its so cute and I love his belly laugh.
This month was the first time that he has stayed over night. Jesse, Johan and Julie and I went canoeing and camping for the night. We met Jesse's mom half way so she could watch him. Boy did I miss him while we were camping..just wasn't the same. He did really well with his grandma...played and slept great for her and Bryan. I was thankful he was such a good little boy but I was ready to have him back at home even though his grandma took good care of him and sent us pictures, voice mails and videos of him having a good time..made me feel better...Jesse and I had a great time canoeing and camping for the first time together. It was a much needed break.
June 13th Easton decided to finally crawl. He's still alittle slow at it and is a little unsure of things but he is definitely getting around better and crawling to his toys and electrical wires and everything else he can come into contact with. Now is the time we will have to be watching him real close.
Normally since I have to work really early Jesse takes care of Easton. He'll normally wake up in the morning and i'll feed him and change his clothes and then put him in bed with Jesse...well one morning after he learned how to crawl...Jesse was downstairs doing something...Easton apparently was sleeping and woke up and decided to crawl off our bed...our bed is not low to the ground..it's rather high....poor little guy ended up with some bruises and a rug burn on his head. From now on I bet Jesse will be paying more attention to him and I for one will not be putting him on the bed unattended...lesson learned for both of us. If i do put him in bed with Jesse I will surround the bed with pillows on the floor so it is a lesser of a fall if he does decide to crawl off..
Easton's favorite toys this month are electrical wires (loves them and is constantly trying to find some) his john deer tractor, cell phones, the remote, his stuffed raccoon from his uncle, his musical chair (loves loves it), keys to the car, his paci pals and his pop up piano toy.
We definitely love this little guy. He is our cup of sunshine every day
