Things to remember

1.) Never put Easton in the jumper right after he is fed a full bottle...can you say throw up central..all over mommy and the chair.

2.) When feeding him baby food...remember to declothe him otherwise say good bye to the outfit.

3.) After bath time make sure to cover him with a towel while he's drying off otherwise mommy gets soaked... :)

Easton's 1st unplanned doctors visit

Our poor little guy just hasn't had the best of luck. He was sick last week with a fever and a cold and now Kim (daycare provider) has called again letting us know that Easton has a 103 temperature and needs to be picked up. He was fine when we dropped him off and the night before. You could definitely tell he wasn't feeling the greatest when i picked him up. I immediately took him to the doctors office since 103 temp is really high for an infant. After doing some tests and taking blood samples...come to find out Easton has a bacterial infection and RSV. Seems like he can't get a break. He has to be on antibiotics for 10 days and we just have to watch him with the RSV since its not that bad. He's breathing fine and not doing much coughing anymore. I feel so bad for him. Its hard knowing he doesn't feel good and he can't tell you what hurts or what's wrong. Long weekend ahead..hopefully he starts to feel better soon.

Easton - 5 months

Crazy how Easton is 5 months old already..Took him to his pediatrician for his check up and he weighs 14lbs 8oz and is 26.5 inches long. He's growing..just little by little. Seems like he gaines about a lb a month on average.

At 5 months i decided to completely give up on the breast feeding. It was just becoming too difficult and depressing all at the same time. I was only getting on average 6 oz a day and that was pumping 3 times a day. Over the course of the month Easton has really showed his personality. He loves playing with his feet..he can hold his own bottle now and he loves his baby food. He's learned how to make spitting noises with his lips..its really cute...he'll immiate one of us from time to time. He definitely knows what the bottle is. Even if he's not hungry and he sees that bottle..he wants it. He will throw a crying, kicking, screaming match until he has it. Most of the time he's really hungry so Jesse and I give in and get him a bottle..after he's got that bottle in his mouth..he's one happy camper. His sleeping habits are getting a little better. He is only waking up about 1 time per night to eat. Its normally around midnight which isn't all that bad.

Jesse and I have definitely enjoyed these last 5 months with our little guy..He brings such joy to our lives even if we are lacking sleep and have had to forget about our going out lifestyle...lol...Wouldn't trade the world for him. He is such a cutie and we are thankful every day for his loving personality, precious smile and overall health.. Excited about the months to come.

Kitchen Backsplash

After I saw how Katie Shields kitchen backsplash turned out..i just had to have mine painted as well and Jesse actually agreed to let me do it...This couple is amazing when it comes to painting and refurbishing furniture...crazy. They paint backsplashes with paint to make them look like tile..its one of their side jobs in order to raise money for fertility treatments and now twins on the way...the price was very reasonable as well and we love how it turned out!!! Brings so much character to the kitchen and warms it up...worth every penny.

Taping of the backsplash..time consuming

Love it...its not perfect but i love the character it brings.

Easton's Room

Saturday night our really good friends Steph and Jake came over for dinner and a little painting. Steph loves to paint so i snatched her up to help me paint Easton's room..We had a great time and a lot of fun. While the woman painted the men babysat and sat in their recliners with beers in hand....I love how Easton's room turned out. The blue was definitley the way to go...Now to hang things on the wall...can't wait. When and if we ever have a girl..i think accenting with hot pinks will look adorable.. :)

Easton's Dedication

We were very fortunate to have both of our entire familys travel to Des Moines for Easton and Jace's dedication. It truely meant a lot to all of us that everyone could make it. We had a great weekend spending time with the family and even put some of them to work. Brian installed a new garage door opener..fixed the garage door to actually open, installed gutters...and helped with many other projects. Brenda and my dad helped clean our mini blinds that were in horrible shape..can't believe the people before us lived in such filth...Brenda also cooked some yummy salads for Easton's dedication lunch. My family came into town Friday night so were were able to spend some time with them...ordered pizza, swam at the hotel..it turned out to be a great weekend and the church was full with family..doubled the congregation in size...Lunch was amazing..we had Johan and Julie smoke us some turkeys and a pork loin..everyone loved them...Overall the weekend turned out great and we all had a good time.
