Daycare

Easton had been going to his daycare since he was 3 months old. Kim had been a great daycare provider. Unfortunately her being in Altoona we wanted to find somewhere closer to take Easton since we are probably going to be staying in Pleasant Hill for awhile. An opening came available right down the street. I had called her before I even had Easton and inquired about an opening but she was all full. Easton and I met with her and we really liked her and felt comfortable with her. Now the hard part of telling Kim. Before Jesse and I headed to South Dakota we met with Kim and let her know that we were giving her our 30 days notice. She was sad of course because Easton's been with her so long and she's grown fond of him. At first it wasn't anything against Kim but the distance and Vicky was actually going to be 15 dollars a month cheaper. Kim has been an over all good provider even though she called in sick a lot and took way too much vacation but over the course of our 30 days Kim's attitude kind of changed towards us and she started to not treat us as nicely has she currently had before we told her that Easton was leaving. I had a couple of run in's with her regarding vacation (Martin Luther King Day) and now apparently instead of giving her a verbal 30 days notice like my sister did with her kids..she was requiring a written 30 day notice. I had texted her on our last week of daycare to tell her that we were going to use our deposit as our last weeks of pay. She apparently didn't realized that the verbal 30 days was our actual 30 days. She insisted that Easton needed a written 30 day notice and that we didn't actually give our 30 day notice until 2 weeks after we actually had given it to her. Unfortunately the situation ended poorly. I ended up pulling Easton from Kims daycare due to the lack of respect and for the fact that she told me she was not going to care for Easton unless we paid her for the week and was to give a 30 day written notice. I had enough of all the crap we put up with during the last 30 days. Easton is way more important to us than money. I took that day off and stayed home with him and called Vicky and she luckily agreed to start watching him a week early. Over all Vicky has been a great addition in Easton's life. He seems more happy after daycare and seems to really like it there. I think Jesse and I both made the right decision in pulling him from Kims. It was a hard decision to make but it overall has turned out for the best for Easton and us.

Easton - 16 Months

16 Months and counting. Crazy how time flys. Easton is at such a cute little age. He's starting to use a few more words (sock, shoe, truck, car, ball), is starting to interact more with Jesse and I and loves hearing Jesse's truck coming home. He'll run to the door and say "daddy, daddy". It's so cute. He knows exactly what Jesse's jeep sounds like and gets so excited, has gotten a few more teeth including his 2nd Molers, tried relive for the first time (energizer water) and spazzed out running circles around everyone and this was right at bed time. He definitely was all wound up. It was hilarious to watch.

We had a fairly calm month this month. Grandma and Aunt Michelle came to visist for a weekend, Easton had a play date with Ellie, Mindy and Jill and McDonalds and had lots of fun every night playing outside. One downside to the month that Easton didn't like was getting locked out of all the cupboards. He loved the lid drawer where he took out all the lids and played with them. He was not a happy camper when one day he found out he couldn't access the lid drawer anymore. The only cupboard we left unlocked was the pantry so he could still access his snacks when he was hungry. He loves going to the pantry and grabbing his own cookies or crackers and bringing them to us to open. He'll even bring us things other than his snacks..like...wine bottles, coffee..etc... Another thing Easton did not like was leaving the park whenever we visted. He loves the slides and playing around on all the toys. He definitely is going to be an outside kind of little boy. He loves being outside and hates going back inside when it's time......unless it's dinner time and he's hungry :)
Love this little guy
